Accordion lessons with Blai Navarro
I am a concert accordionist and conservatory teacher based in Cervera (Catalonia, Spain). I hold a Master of Music in Accordion Performance from the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and taught at the ESMuC (Catalonia College of Music) from 2013 to 2022. I teach chromatic button and piano accordion, live online or in person.
Lessons
Each lesson lasts 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the work we can do that day. We work on your repertoire, technique and interpretation, and always on posture and the position of the accordion, which is the basis of everything else.

How I teach
During my Master's in Helsinki I practised up to 11 hours a day and still could not get the results I wanted. So I stopped and started to understand how the instrument and the body work together: the straps, where the accordion should sit and why, how the body moves with the bellows. After applying it, I practised 3 hours a day with better results. That is the core of my teaching: the best result with the least practice time.

- Co-author of the chromatic accordion method «Un viaje relámpago. Las aventuras de Sini y Doc» (Boileau, 2016), also in Catalan: «Un viatge llampec», and of «Fantasy Game» and «Construïm un somni», for accordion ensemble with accompaniment (Boileau).
- Performances at the Gran Teatre del Liceu opera house and with the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra (OBC).
- Jury member at the Coupe Mondiale (Shenzhen 2019), the Vilnius International Accordion Competition (2021) and the Trophée Mondial (2022).
